If you’re traveling from outside of Europe, you may need to make a connection in Athens or another major European city. The flight from Athens to Corfu takes just under an hour.

By Ferry

Another option for getting to Corfu is by ferry. There are regular ferry services from the Greek mainland, as well as from other islands in the Ionian Sea. The ferry ride from Igoumenitsa on the mainland takes around 1.5 hours, while the journey from Paxos takes just 1 hour.

I felt very safe in Corfu in general, so safety isn’t a huge issue. With that said, here are a few tips to keep in mind so your vacation doesn’t get ruined:
