What are the most instagrammable spots in Paris?

The Eiffel Tower is undoubtedly one of the most photographed spots in the city, but other popular landmarks include the Arc de Triomphe, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica.

With that said, you’ll find some of the best Paris Instagram spots along its picturesque neighborhoods and streets. The Marais and Montmartre neighborhoods are particularly popular, with their charming streets, colorful buildings, and unique boutiques.

Top Paris Instagram Spots: Landmarks and Buildings

1. Jardin des Tuileries

Jardin des Tuileries, or Tuileries Gardens, is a gem when it comes to Paris Instagram spots. This immaculate public park offers a picturesque spot to capture the Parisian charm and local vibe through your lens.

Located in the 1st arrondissement, nestled between the Louvre Museum and Place de la Concorde, Tuileries Garden dates back to the 16th century.

These days, the park is best known for its vibrant flower beds, manicured hedges, tree-lined avenues and flowing fountains.

Tuileries Garden has a vibrant atmosphere, bustling with a diverse mix of people. You can capture candid shots of locals and tourists alike, indulging in leisurely strolls, enjoying picnics, or simply basking in the sun.

Another great photo spot in the park is on Terr. du Bord de l’Eau. This tree-lined avenue makes for a picturesque shot all year round, but especially in autumn as the leaves turn in color.

If you have a zoom lens, use this to compress the background to create a more visually appealing shot like the image below (taken on 120mm).

For a fun photo shoot, bring a baguette, croissant, or even a bunch of fresh flowers to take photos in the sunshine by the fountain.

Afterwards, enjoy your picnic lunch while people-watching and soaking in the Parisian vibes. C’est la vie!

2. Palais-Royal

Tucked away in the 1st arrondissement, mere steps away from the Louvre, you can find the Palais-Royal.

A former royal palace from the 1600s, the interior is now home to some government offices, but the grounds are now open to the public for free.

There are many different photo spots around the palace, from the building’s opulent exterior to the columned galleries housing a range of boutiques so it really is a photographer’s dream.

Be sure to take a walk around the stunning Palais-Royal Gardens, a popular filming location for local productions and Hollywood blockbusters alike.

The real Instagram gem, however, can be found in the courtyard. Here you’ll find the iconic rows of black and white striped pillars that you can sit, stand or lean on to get the perfect shot.

It can get busy in the courtyard, especially in the middle of the day, but you can usually find a quieter area to take your pictures.

If you want to be sure to avoid the crowds or have a specific shot in mind, try and get there when it opens at around 8 am and bring a coffee and croissant for a peaceful stroll around the garden after. What a perfect Parisian morning!

3. Opera Garnier

The Opera Garnier is one of the most incredible Paris Instagram spots, thanks to the many gorgeous spots found all over the opera house.

While you can actually attend a concert or show at the Garnier, you can also just visit during daytime hours.

To start, there’s a very grand staircase leading from the foyer up to the level where you enter the actual opera hall.

This staircase is embellished with statues and splits to either side halfway up. On the upper level, there are little alcoves overlooking the grand staircase.

The opera hall itself is grand and luxurious, with heavy fabrics and a very picturesque stage. Access to the opera hall is pretty intermittent – sometimes it’s open, sometimes it’s not, just depending on if they are rehearsing or working on the set during the day.

The room that you absolutely cannot miss in the Opera Garnier, though, is the Grand Foyer, a sumptuous, extravagant, absolutely swoon-worthy hall decked out in gold, reflecting mirrors, elaborate chandeliers, painted murals on the ceiling, and a fireplace at each end. It *almost* puts Versailles to shame!

Finally, from the Grand Foyer, you can walk out to the balcony that overlooks the front of the opera house and the upscale Avenue de l’Opera in front of the building.

What makes the Opera Garnier even more interesting? This is the opera house that “the Phantom of the Opera” was based on. Overall, the Opera Garnier is a very photogenic and romantic place to visit in Paris

When you think about Paris, the look and feel of the hilltop neighborhood of Montmartre is probably what comes to mind.

No spot represents the classic feel of Paris better than Le Consulat, a cafe where the artists of Paris’ past once gathered. Head down Rue Norvis to the corner where it meets Rue des Saules to find one of the most iconic Paris Instagram spots.

An adorable cafe perched at the end of these two narrow cobblestone streets, Le Consulat is a darling Paris photo spot that absolutely oozes romantic vibes and old-world charm.

6. The Sinking House

Paris is filled with instagrammable locations, but the Sinking House is truly one of the most unique Paris photo spots.

When you arrive at the Sinking House, you’ll struggle to believe that this optical illusion exists in real life.

The name of this location gives it away. This house appears in photos as though it is sinking into the ground behind you. Unfortunately, this is just a trick of the camera.

The Sinking House is an optical illusion that you can spot on the stairs going up or down to Sacré-Cœur on the right-hand side, which makes this place a must-visit on any Paris itinerary

It makes for a unique photo, and it will undoubtedly catch the attention of your followers on Instagram.

Make sure to center yourself in front of the house, tilt your camera to the left and face the Basilica to snap that perfect shot.

The best thing about this location is that alongside having a great photo opportunity, you will also get to see gorgeous views of Paris. The views at sunset are incredible, and you could spend time relaxing on the grass here.

This attraction is quite popular, so it would be best to visit as early as possible to avoid having lots of people in your photo.

La Conciergerie is a stunningly beautiful building located in the heart of Paris, near the Cathedral of Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter.

La Conciergerie makes for the perfect Paris Instagram stop along the Seine River. It also has a unique history, as it was originally part of the former royal palace called Palais de la Cite.

Later on, it became utilized as a Parisian prison for many years and is most famously known for being where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned during the end of the French Revolution.

Despite its tumultuous history, the outside of La Conciergerie looks like a lovely French chateau, similar to the chateaus found throughout the Loire Valley.

La Conciergerie is one of the hidden gems of Paris and it makes for a perfect photo spot. For the best views of La Conciergerie, head to a bridge called Pont au Change.

9. Louvre

While there are many overrated attractions and not-so-great aspects of Paris, one place that will forever remain a pillar of Parisian culture is the Louvre!

While the tens of thousands of pieces of artwork on display are reason enough to warrant a visit, the famous museum also happens to be one of the best places to take some pictures!

For example, a picture of you with the iconic glass pyramids framing the background instantly makes for an eye-catching photograph.

Add the reflection of the sun off the glass in combination with its juxtaposition to the surrounding facades and you have the perfect recipe for a dramatic, Instagram-ready photo.

Or, if you’re looking for a more silly photograph, you position your camera and body so it looks like you’re holding the top of the pyramid or leaning against it. And, of course, don’t forget to capture some images inside the Louvre too!

With so many different art styles and time periods represented within the museum, you can easily spend the whole day taking pictures!

So next time you’re in Paris, be sure to get creative and take a few pictures at the Louvre! It’s truly a landmark that should not be missed!

10. Luxembourg Gardens in Paris

The Luxembourg Gardens in Paris are former royal gardens located at the heart of the city near the Latin quarter.

Symmetrical tree alignments, meticulously trimmed bushes and themed seasonal flower beds make this garden a special place to be.

Soft pastel color palates bring out the Parisian charm in the Luxembourg Gardens. For the best water body photography, look out for the Medici fountain, which is an elongated canal-like pond, and the grand basin in the lower parterre area.

Come after 10 am to take a picture-perfect mirrored effect photograph of the Luxembourg Palace in the great basin.

Various themed statues, honoring people, animals, and moments in history, can be found scattered around the 60 acre large public gardens.

You will find many inspiring photography spots and surprisingly, you will be able to forget time and space in these fairy tale gardens.

The orangerie with the jardin de la roseraie and serres greenhouse are green places worth exploring if you have extra time on hand.

Old orange and almost forgotten apple varieties grow in the Luxembourg Gardens. You will also find a beekeeping school at the south-western corner of the gardens.

The Luxembourg Gardens are much more than just a green space in the busy French capital, they are a place for us all to recharge our batteries and get inspired.

The Musée de la Vie Romantique, located in the Pigalle neighborhood of the 9th arrondissement is a picturesque museum that offers you a glimpse into the romantic era of the 19th century.

12. Bois de Vincennes

Bois de Vincennes, located on the eastern edge of Paris, is one of the city’s most photogenic spots. With its sprawling green spaces and tranquil lakeside views, it’s easy to see why this area has become a favorite among photographers.

You could easily spend a few days here snapping one-of-a-kind shots, but there are a few places that you shouldn’t miss.

First is Parc Floral de Paris. Here you’ll find flourishing gardens with flowers of every color imaginable. If you’re visiting Paris this summer, it’s a definite must-see.

Then, there’s the Temple Romantique de l’Île de Reuilly on Lac Daumesnil, the views of which will no doubt make your photos stand out. And next to the lake is the La Grande Pagoda.

13. Disneyland Paris

If you’re looking for unique (and magical!) Paris Instagram spots, you can’t beat the castle at Disneyland. Otherwise known as Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, this pink and blue castle is decorated with turrets, golden spires, and even tiny snails as a nod to France!

Now, the pastel shades ideal for a shot that won’t look overly saturated if you’re rocking bright clothing. But there are also several angles that you can try to remove crowds from your final image.

If you’re looking for ideas, a head-on shot is always an excellent option if you want to capture the castle in all its glory. However. you can also head around to the ledges at the front of the castle or the lesser-known-about railing around the side.

If you’re not sure where to find this hidden location, you’ll want to look for La Tanière du Dragon attraction. This is absolutelyan Instagrammable spot in itself (there’s a very realistic dragon animatronic hiding under here!). But there’s also a small pathway just next to it that offers you an unbeatable angle toward the castle.

Although your shot won’t capture the stained-glass window on the front turret, you will have no people in your shot here.

That’s right – nada.

14. The Garden of Albert Kahn

If you are looking for a truly unique Instagram spot in Paris, head out to Boulogne-Billancourt.

It’s here where you find one of the most magical places in Paris: The Garden of Albert Kahn. Even though this little piece of paradise is not exactly in Paris, it’s just a short Metro ride outside the city. Just hop on line 10 and you are there in no time.

Albert Kahn, born 1860, was a philanthrope, banker and surprisingly for his time: an avid world traveler.

Back in France, he yearned for a place that reflected his idea of universal peace, and his deeply imprinted impressions from his adventures.

That’s when he got to idea to create his park, an oasis of Japanese gardens, French orchards, English rose gardens and even a forest that represents the different regions of France.

The best spot for Instagram Photos in the Jardin Albert Kahn is of course the bright red Japanese bridge.

The centerpiece of the garden and a good motive to have a bit fun with your community. It’s confusing for sure!

If you are traveling to Paris in April, you are right in time for Cherry Blossom season, because of course, the garden has a few of those trees as well.

But any other time is lovely, especially thanks to the many rose bushes, that are perfect for romantic photo shots.

Colonnes de Buren were created in the mid-1980s by French artist, Daniel Buren. His work features a number of black and white striped columns of varying height arranged in a grid.

16. Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe, located at the western end of the Champs-Élysées in Paris, is a monumental and iconic structure that is a testament to France’s rich history and architectural grandeur.

Standing at a height of 50 meters, the Arc de Triomphe is a powerful symbol of triumph and victory. It was commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806 to honor the French army’s victories, and its intricate design and meticulous craftsmanship are awe-inspiring.

The grandeur of the arch, adorned with intricate reliefs and sculptures depicting historical events, evokes a sense of reverence and admiration for the past.

Beyond its historical significance, the Arc de Triomphe also serves as a prime location for photography enthusiasts and tourists seeking to capture the essence of Paris.

From its elevated platform, you can witness the city’s vibrant energy as the bustling traffic swirls around the roundabout below.

The view extends to the sweeping boulevards, lined with elegant Haussmannian buildings, leading towards the Eiffel Tower in the distance.

Whether it is the golden hues of a sunrise casting a warm glow upon the city, or the dazzling lights illuminating the night sky, this iconic landmark offers a captivating backdrop for any photograph.

17. Le Café Marly

One of the best Paris Instagram spots is Le Café Marly. This is a cafe that you can find at the Louvre in the city of Paris.

The cafe is the perfect place to have a delicious drink and great food. For example, it is a good place to have breakfast when you are in the city.

What makes Le Café Marly great for photos is that it is located inside of the arcades of the Louvre. From this place, you can get a great view of the modern glass pyramid of the Louvre.

Also, you can capture the historic building of the Louvre behind the glass pyramid.

Furthermore, the cafe serves its drinks in pretty coffee cups that are great for photos as well and the food of the cafe is very beautiful too.

I’ve been to Le Café Marly multiple times and every time the view amazes me. What’s great about this place as a photo spot is that you can sit in front of the stone railing of the cafe.

Because of that, there is nobody in front of you that will appear in your photos (except for the people that are waiting in line to enter the Louvre).

18. “I Love You” Wall

The “I Love You” Wall, known as Le Mur des Je t’aime in French, is an artistic landmark nestled in the heart of Montmartre.

This place is special because it unites people from all walks of life. Love knows no language barrier, and this wall is a living testament to that. It’s a hub of connection and a reminder that no matter where we come from, love is something we all understand.

See how fast you can find “I love you” in your language, and learn how to say it in new languages as well. 19. Café de Flore

If you’re interested in visiting the best cafés in Paris, the iconic Café de Flore in the trendy Saint-Germain-des-Prés area, will no doubt be on your list. The fact that it’s also one of the most popular Paris Instagram spots, is the icing on the cake.

The gorgeous corner entrance on Boulevard Saint-Germain is the prime Paris photo spot.

Since the name translates to “Café of Flora” it’s very apropos that over the doorway sits an abundance of plants and flowers. The lush greenery also extends over the awnings down both sides of the building proving two other snappable options.

But the photos don’t have to be limited to the outside. The art deco decor inside and the classic French cuisine also make great Instagram posts. If you can swing it, enjoying a meal or a snack at this café is like visiting a museum.

This legendary spot has been serving Parisians and tourists since it opened its doors in 1887.

Located in the heart of the sixth arrondissement where café culture flourished in the early 1900s, Café de Flore has become a symbol of this time in Parisian history.

Many of the most celebrated writers, artist, and philosophers have lingered over a coffee here like Hemingway, Picasso, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Simone De Beauvoir to name a few.

Today, the café is still very popular so go on an off time because they don’t take reservations.

20. Sainte Chapelle

Sainte Chapelle is one of the most beautiful hidden gems in the city and was one of my favorite Paris Instagram spots during my solo trip to Paris. Commissioned by King Louis IX of France, the construction of the chapel began in 1238 and took only seven years.

The architecture is absolutely stunning, with intricate vaulted ceilings, ornate columns, and of course, mesmerizing stained glass windows.

The windows are the real draw and transport visitors to a different world, providing the perfect backdrop for your Instagram feed.

Sainte Chapelle is easy to get to since it is located in the heart of Paris near other notable landmarks such as the Notre Dame Cathedral. Simply take the metro to the Châtelet stop and walk for a few minutes.

The chapel is open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM during the warmer months and closes earlier at 5 PM during the colder months. I highly recommend going early to avoid the crowds so you can snap the perfect pic!

Once there, make your way up to the second level to see the most stunning part of the chapel.

From there, you can position yourself in the middle of the room with your camera as low to the ground as possible (find a friend who will squat to the floor for you!) and tilted upwards to capture as much of the architecture as possible.

Wear simple and solid-colored clothing to contrast against the elaborate windows to get the best shot and once you snap your pic, stay a while to learn about the history and other objects in Sainte Chapelle!

However, people really come here for the beautiful gardens and the fantastic views of the Eiffel Tower, the most iconic Paris attraction

While the views are great from just about anywhere in the Trocadéro Gardens, the best ones are from the northwest end of the fountain.

If the fountains are on, then you can get a shot of the majestic tower with the dancing waters of the fountain at her feet.

My favorite photo can only be taken when the fountains are off, and you can get the mirror image of the Eiffel Towers reflected in the still waters of the fountain.

The Trocadéro is an incredibly popular place for photos, including wedding pictures.

If you want to get a picture without crowds, plan to visit just after sunrise.  (And even then, there will already be a few early birds with the same idea!)

To reach the Trocadéro, you can either walk across the Pont d’Iéna bridge from the Eiffel Tower, or you can take the metro directly to the Trocadéro stop.

29. Port Debilly

For a truly iconic photo spot in Paris featuring the Eiffel Tower, head to Port Debilly.

Located on the docks of the river Seine near the Iéna bridge, this hidden gem offers an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower.

This is a fantastic Paris photo spot as you can capture the Eiffel Tower, the river Seine and the some charming cobblestones all in one frame.

It also tends to be a lot less crowded here than other Eiffel Tower viewpoints, making it easier to get a photo without the hordes of tourists.

I’d recommend visiting around sunrise or sunset for the best photo opportunities.

If you go at sunset, make sure you stay until it is dark so you can photograph the Eiffel Tower as it begins to sparkle.

Port Debilly also happens to be a great spot for a picnic. What could be better than sitting along the banks of Seine, feasting on some delicious French delicacies as you snap away?

If you can’t get enough of the Iron Lady, make sure you book into a Paris Hotel with a view of the Eiffel Tower during your stay here!

30. Avenue de Camoens

Avenue de Camoens is a quiet street near the Trocadero, which is perfect for getting an instagram-worthy shot of the Eiffel Tower.

To get here from the Trocadero, turn your back to the Eiffel Tower and walk left on the Rue Benjamin Franklin. When you see a fork, walk right and keep going until you finally see Avenue de Camoens to your left.

It’s good to know that the location of this street is shown accurately on maps. The total walking distance from the Trocadero to Avenue de Camoens is only 5 minutes but this street is less popular than the other insta-famous streets in Paris, making it a perfect location to grab incredible pictures with one of the best views of the Eiffel Tower.

That being said, there are always some professional photographers and other insta-enthusiasts here so you might have to wait a couple of minutes for your turn.

Alternately, it is always recommended to get here early in the AM to beat the crowds!

At the end of Avenue de Camoens, there is a fancy staircase with lamps on either side which offers numerous perspectives to take really beautiful photographs with a backdrop of the Iron Lady.

Moreover, the Haussmann buildings on the side make this an incredibly dreamy place.

31. Champs de Mars

No one would argue Paris is a beautiful and romantic city. You press a shutter anywhere on the street and get a gorgeous shot. Which part of Paris is not Instagram-worthy, right?

While this is so true, there are a few spots you do not want to miss in your Paris itinerary. Champs de Mars is one of them, and here is why.

Champs de Mars is a large urban park in front of the Eiffel Tower. As Parisians enjoy their city, you can picnic at the park in the late afternoon. Bring sparkling wine and snacks, throw a blanket on the lawn, and voila. You are all set for the picnic.

Now you relax and enjoy your Parisian picnic. But don’t leave yet. Wait for the most romantic show in the evening, i.e., the Eiffel Tower illumination show!

The Eiffel Tower sparkles every evening for 5 minutes at a time. Lights are turned at the top of the hour from sunset to 1 am.

Champs de Mars is the best place to see and get a romantic shot of the Eiffel Tower illumination for free. Two birds with one stone!

Going picnic at Champs de Mars and appreciating the sparkling Eiffel Tower certainly will be a romantic evening you won’t forget.
